The fontina manual
Ten chapters, written to be read once in order and consulted by chapter after that.
It covers the command line and the concepts behind it. Every chapter is a page in this repository; corrections are pull requests, and each page links its own source.
Start with Getting started: it installs fontina, indexes your fonts and asks the first questions, in about ten minutes.

Documentation that is not here
fontina help <command>- The reference for any command, from the binary you are actually running. The same text ships as a man page in every release archive.
- The JSON Schemas
- What every
--jsonoutput is guaranteed to contain. CI diffs them on every pull request, so they cannot drift from the code that produces them. - Architecture decision records
- Why the project is built the way it is: the parsing library, the index, the licence, the deferred desktop shell. The manual takes these for granted.
- The FAQ
- The questions this manual does not answer, including several about what fontina deliberately will not do.
